Solar tracking is a broad term used to describe devices that adjust payloads toward the sun. Payloads are of many types like photo voltaic panels, reflectors, lenses and other optical devices. Solar tracking is the procedure used to adjust day light and sun radiations reflectors, panels and optical lenses towards the sun. The position of the sun varied from season to season and time to time as sun is not constant and remains move across the sky. In solar applications there require high accuracy rate to make sure that sun radiations are directed to the devices used to collect solar energy located at the focal points of optical devices. Sun Tracking is used to enhance the power and energy of the sun while in less light modes by giving strength to power system. In summer season this energy can be used in air conditioning systems by Sun Tracking. Maximum use in appropriate time can give better performance rather than low annual energy production. There are different kinds of sun trackers used in solar tracking systems to reflect sun radiations to the situated optical devices to convert sunlight into solar energy, some are as follows:

Standard photo voltaic trackers and concentrated photo voltaic trackers are commonly used in solar tracking systems. These trackers gather the sunlight and direct it to the oriented optical devices. Level of energy can be increased or decreased on requirement. These trackers diffuse sunlight directly from the sun. Both trackers have their own specifications regarding axes, driven modes, applications, architecture, vertical and horizontal supports and related foundations and can be affected by the variations. |
