By using sunlight radiations we produce solar power to get electricity and high voltage current which later on use in individual, commercial and industrial level. We use different techniques to get solar power i.e. photovoltaic techniques and concentrating solar energy. We can not only boil water through the converted energy but can use that energy later on to provide power. In 2008, solar energy provided 0.02 per cent of the total energy consumption throughout the world. Concentrating solar thermal plants, power plants and now various multi megawatt photovoltaic plants have been built to gather high voltage solar energy to get high voltage electricity and current.German, Portugal and other distinguished countries have diverted their attention towards solar energy to perform daily routine work as well as for the production of electricity with high DC voltage and current. Fort Peck Solar Farms, Topaz Solar Farms and Rancho Cielo Solar Farms are being proposed by photovoltaic power techniques. Germany is most prominent country to work on photovoltaic power stations to get optimum use of solar energy. Global solar power is a certain alternate energy source which is not available at all times and we can use this power even in the absence of solar energy with good scale of accuracy. Solar thermal concentrator is the technology use to store high thermal energy such as molten salts. Solar energy can be used in form of heat to make cold nights comfortable in individual level especially. We can use solar energy for heat purposed when it is not being used for the production of electricity, it means we can make optimum use of this solar energy by using it in different ways in different timings. Solar power satellites are being used to launch satellites and receiving signals of antennas situated on earth. Orbital solar power avoids irregular use of solar energy as the work is more sensitive as compare to heat or electricity production. The energy generation efficiency will be enhanced with the increase in intensity of sunlight. Photovoltaic technology is highly used to capture solar energy. There are three types of photovoltaic panels * Mono-crystalline * Polycrystalline * Amorphous Every type has different usage, advantages and disadvantages. Good amount of power is being utilized to make system capable to perform the required functions. Commercially we cannot use these systems only because of cost of system which needs handsome amount of solar energy to perform up to the mark. Solar power plants have also high costs for the installation, work and maintenance but technology is giving signals that the solar energy will be the best renewable resource of power in coming future. Developing countries are also planning to adopt the solar energy strategies for their domestic industries. |
